Since it’s #throwbackthursday, I want to share with you all a fun group date with my middle school/high school BFFs back in December to celebrate my birthday.
We went on the Savor Oakland Jack London Square Tour and it definitely goes on our list of SF Bay Area Dates on a Budget because it’s a really good deal! For $55, you get a knowledgeable tour guide in addition to the variety of delicious samplings of food and wine.
Geneva (pictured above) was our tour guide that day and our first stop was at the Home of Chicken and Waffles where we tried, well you guessed it, chicken and waffles! I don’t have a picture because we gobbled it up too fast. Geneva also hooked us up with iced Blue Bottle coffee.
Our next stop was Authentic Bagel Company where we tasted delicious, chewy bagels with homemade cream cheese.
Of course there’s a little wine tasting involved during this tour! Here we are at Urban Legend Cellar‘s tasting room.
We also watched fresh pasta being made at Baia Pasta which was awesome because it was fun to watch and honestly, we needed a break from eating/drinking haha!
Forge has to be my favorite stop that day. These cheese curds were my favorite food item of the day and they were so sweet to give me birthday dessert!
Bocanova was next. We tried the ceviche with plantains & churros with warm chocolate sauce.
Our last stop was at Miette where we tasted their macarons – pistachio is definitely my favorite. We didn’t try it that day but I also recommend their ice cream cookie sandwiches.
Along the way, Geneva shared interesting historical facts about Jack London Square. We also couldn’t resist taking pictures by this great view of the Port of Oakland Cranes.
