Last year, Mari and I went to the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland to watch Heist: Who Stole the American Dream. It is an eye opening film that details the strategic execution of granting corporation immense power and influence in American lives today. It all started with the Powell Memorandum, written by Lewis Franklin Powell Jr. Using his experience as a corporate lawyer and representative for the tobacco industry he basically inspired corporations to utilize their financial influence to mold politics and the law.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and Labor Day, the movie is available to watch for free until September 4th.
